Christmas is still three months away, but retailers already have that most wonderful time of the year on their minds.
On Tuesday, Kohl's Department Stores announced that they were hiring more than 52,000 people nationwide for holidays. That's an average of 41 employees per store. Jobs include register sales, stocking, freight processing, and unloading trucks.
So what can you do to get those jobs? I talked with experts at QPS Employment in Wausau to find out. "Some tips I would give to people to make sure they stand out is obviously get there, get the application, get started on everything right away, be very thorough they're going to be looking to make sure the whole application is done, not just the first section of your employment history," said Rachel Madeson, Branch Manager.
She says you should also attach a cover letter which explains why you stand out, as well as a resume. If you get an interview, make sure you dress appropriately and be on time. You should leave your cell phone in the car and don't bring your children to the interview.
Kohl's plans to fill its positions by mid-November, just in time for Black Friday. If you're curious how much you'd be working there if you're hired, it ranges from just a few hours a week to more than 20.
