A home is struck by lightning in the Town of Scott early Tuesday morning.
It happened a little after midnight at N1068 Corning Road.
Lincoln County officials tell Newschannel 7, the fire was put out within a few hours and they believe the upper level of the home is a total loss. Damage is estimated to be around $40,000.
The Merrill Fire Department spoke with the homeowner's son who said his parents were out of town on vacation. He says he was awaken by the storm and heard the lightning strike. He then found smoke on the second floor.
No one was injured.
