The headliner on opening night, The Gambler himself, Kenny Rogers.
"I was here in 1998. I guess I didn't do very well since they didn't have me back for 16-years," says the legendary Rogers with tongue in cheek.
But they also bring the hottest young act as well. Like Craig Campbell with his big hit song, "Keep them Kisses Coming." He's making his first Hodag appearance.
"I took a golf cart a bit ago and we rode around and everybody seems ready for the show and I hope they have a good time," says Campbell.
The fact that he's playing the same night as one of country music's most legendary figures is not lost on this young performer.
Campbell says, "first, I was excited to be at Hodag, then to be told I was gonna be on the same stage as Kenny Rogers, I mean The Gambler, I'm super pumped about that."
And that admiration goes from the legend to the newcomer as well.
Rogers says "music itself has changed a lot and I think it's good. It has to invite the new people in and some of these new kids are really, really good."
His advice to the newcomers? Save 20% of what you make and pay your taxes on time. In other words, don't gamble with your money.
