Nearly 200,000 of our veterans are homeless, that's according to the National Coalition for the Homeless. But a local group of veterans are lending a helping hand to their partners in need.
The Wausau Man of Honor Society took a van full of supplies to veterans staying at the homeless wing of King Veterans Home in Waupaca Tuesday. Organizers say they have gotten a lot of donations during the holiday season.
"We have a box, and we take donations, and everybody is real good about giving," said associate, Jerri Knippel, "so every other Saturday there's things to take up, but this is a big one, there's lots all kinds of stuff, and people were so generous."
