UPDATE: Rome Burglary Suspect Arrested

UPDATE: 4/11 at 12:47 p.m.

According to news release from the Adams County Sheriff's Department, the suspect in a Thursday morning burglary in the Town of Rome is now in the Adams County Jail awaiting charges.

Police say Dean Shibilski, 42, is expected to be charged with burglary, bail jumping, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say at 9:25 a.m., a K-9 officer tracked the suspect to a wooded area near the crime scene. Shibilski was then taken into custody without incident.

ORIGINAL STORY: 4/11 at 9:31 a.m.

Police in the Town of Rome are searching for the suspect in an early morning burglary.

According to an email alert from the department, officers responded to a home on the 900 block of Akron Drive for a residential alarm.

Officers believe several firearms were possibly taken.

A nearby witness later spotted a white man wearing a blue and white jacket hiding in the woods near the residence.

Police are currently searching for the suspect. If you should see this suspect do not approach and call police immediately.
