Wausau firefighters tell NewsChannel 7 the house that was the scene of a destructive fire Tuesday afternoon had been condemned after another fire in it's basement two weeks ago
Crews were called to the scene on the 700 block of Park Avenue, which is east of N. 6th Street after 5pm.
The fire was so smokey it was tough to actually see the structure.
The fire department says the home is vacant and no one is believed injured.
Firefighters say the flames were difficult to fight because the house is old and because of the brutally cold weather.
