Phase one of the Grand Avenue construction in Wausau is set to wrap up on Monday. The project development director said everything is on schedule.
On Monday, crews finished up pavement marking on the southern part of the project, which runs from Townline Road to Kent Street. The Department of Transportation said in the next few days, people can expect delays, as there will be construction crews removing orange barrels, detour signs, and equipment.
On Wednesday, there will be new lane closures further north for phase two. The new project will run from Townline Road to Division Street. All side roads except for Townline Road, Single Avenue, Lebner Street, and Thomas Street will be closed.
"We really appreciate people looking out for the construction workers, looking out for slow-moving traffic, and to continue to look for alternative routes if possible during those peak periods," Wisconsin D.O.T. Project Development Chief, Mat Bronson said.
