Governor Scott Walker announced today that he is seeking applicants for appointment as sheriff in Vilas County.
The appointment will fill the vacancy created by the death of Sheriff Frank Tomlanovich. The new sheriff will begin serving upon appointment and will complete a term ending January 5, 2015.
Tomlanovich died June 20 following a battle with cancer.
Applicant must reside in Vilas County at the time the appointment becomes effective.
