As part of a Wisconsin DNR Urban Forestry grant, the Robert W. Monk Gardens is sponsoring a series of free courses this summer, aimed at improving the health and diversity of our urban forest. The first course offered is "Good Bugs, Bad Bugs".
This topic will focus on identification, status, prevention and control of a variety of new and incoming pest insects that pose a serious threat to trees and shrubs in the local area.
Information on registering for the courses can be found here: http://www.rwmonkgardens.org/events/
The Good Bugs Bad Bugs class meets:
Wednesday May 28, 7-9 PM in the Sonnentag Room of the Center for Civic Engagement at UWMC
Saturday May 31, 9-11 AM at the Robert W Monk Gardens
