Girl, 3, Drowns at Devil's Lake State Park

BARABOO, Wis. (AP) -- A 3-year-old girl has drowned at Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo.

Sauk County dispatch received the call at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
Department of Natural Resources rangers arrived shortly after and found the girl unresponsive after family members pulled her from the water.

Two doctors and a registered nurse who were visiting the park performed CPR as did DNR staff.

The girl was taken by helicopter to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at about 6 p.m.

The girl is from the Madison area and her identity had not been released pending notification of her extended family.
