Recent snowfall has canceled garbage pickup this week to some homes on Wausau northeast side.
According to a news release from the city, garbage will not be collected in the vicinity bordered by E. Wausau Avenue north to Nina Avenue and North 6th Street east to N. 10th Street.
The city says snowplowing in this area was done earlier this morning and will be done again this evening, however, due to the hills and slushy snow conditions, the garbage trucks are not able to scale the hills.
To assist with snow plowing operations, the city asks that all garbage containers be removed from the curb area and be placed back for garbage removal next week.
Again, garbage will not be collected from these homes this week.
