Furnace Fire Prompts Schofield Plant Evacuation

A furnace fire sparked an early morning evacuation at Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc. in Schofield. Emergency crews were called to the plant shortly after 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Smoke from a fire in a furnace prompted the temporary evacuation of workers.
At latest word, investigators were still working to determine a cause. There were no reports of injuries.

Employees are expected to be allowed back into the plant later this morning.
