Its been an emotional eight months since Marcie Steger's beloved daughter Kira first went missing,
but as hundreds gathered into St. Mark's Parish in Rothschild Saturday, the Steger family was able to see just how much Kira meant to the community.
"It actually makes me very proud to be her mother and to see how many peoples lives she affected. " Marcie Steger said.
As the candles burned and the crowd offered their final respects for Kira, her sister tries to focus not on the painful memories, but on those that remind her how much she loved her sister.
"She had this way about her where she could make you feel more loved and more important in one minute than than anybody I have ever met could make me feel in a lifetime." Kira's sister Felicia Krejci said.
While nothing will ever bring closure to Kira's death, Saturday served as an opportunity for everyone to come together and remember her life.
That is exactly what her whole family would want.
Kira Trevino Steger went missing back in February 2013. Her husband Jeffery Trevino has been charged with second degree unintentional murder in Kira's death.
