A Wausau family is holding a brat fry this weekend to help raise money to buy a wheelchair-accessible van for a 4-year-old little girl.

Maddie Tlusty was born with micrognathia (under developed brain), arthrogryposis, an orthopedic condition which is a tight joint disorder. She was born with several other anomalies, including a club foot, a permanently dislocated hip, fused jaw, airway impairments and cortical visual impairment.

Her family says now that she's getting older they need a special van to transport her wheelchair. The new vehicle costs around $20,000.

A fundraiser will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at County Market in Wausau.

If you can't make it but would like to help out, donations can be made to the “Make Maddie Mobile” fund at any Peoples State Bank location.
