Fmr Antigo Principal Pleads Not Guilty in Drug Case
A former Antigo elementary school principal has pleaded not guilty to seven drug charges including three counts of manufacturing THC, possess with intent, and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
Lund, who also served as a football coach with the district resigned earlier this year. He submitted his resignation during a special school board meeting on February 2. In a unanimous decision, members accepted his resignation. Lund was on paid administrative leave from November 30 to January 24, but charges were not filed until January 20.
Joe Adams and Mark Incha, former high school special education teachers, resigned on March 7. Both face one count possession of THC. Jeff Neufeld, director of the aquatic center was suspended for 35 days for alleged drug use stemming back to 2008. Neufeld is charged with no crime. Dan Wittman, an elementary school gym teacher remains on paid leave.
On November 30, detectives interviewed Lund at Pleasant View Elementary School, where he was principal. Lund said that it was in the first part of November 2011, his brother-in-law, Bradley Maahs called wanting to know if anyone was looking for marijuana. According to the criminal complaint Lund obtained marijuana from Maahs and gave two bags to Scot Peterson. Lund told police he and Peterson used to “get stuff for each other.”
Scot Peterson, a former Antigo High School football coach and retired special education teacher, is facing 26 charges including manufacturing THC.
Cindy Fischer, who has been principal at Mattoon Elementary for the last five years assumed Mr. Lund’s duties at Pleasant View and West Elementary.
