Authorities in southwestern Florida are investigating the death of a former Wausau resident after he was found dead in home near Fort Myers.
According to WINK-TV, the victim has been identified as 61-year-old Gregory Imhoff. Police have not released a cause of death but do say the person of interest in Imhoff's death has died following a confrontation with police.
Neighbors tell WINK, Imhoff was a neighborhood handy-man and often cared for the homes of snowbirds. They say he could have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Police say Imhoff was tending to a home owned by a Plainfield, Wis. Couple when he died Tuesday night. His body was found by a deputy conducting a wellness check at the home.
