As many people know, today was the first game of the season for the Green Bay Packers. Fans from around the state were out to show their support, including some right here in our area.
It seems like it’s been so long since we last said it, but football season is finally here. That means some of the biggest fans are out in full force supporting their teams. And that’s just what we saw at Tailgatez Bar and Grill in Weston.
Fans of all sorts were out to support their teams, and as you may have guessed, many of those fans were cheering on the Packers. Whether actually attending the game, or watching it on television, some of the fans we spoke with say today is a long awaited day.
Justin Fraaza, a Packer fan says, “Were ready for football. Kind of a disappointing end to the year last year, we know they are better than that, and hopefully another trip to the Superbowl."
But it wasn't only packer fans that were out, Minnesota Vikings fans were cheering on their team too. Harland and Edna Carlson say they have been Vikings fans since 1960. "I enjoy being a Viking fan in Packer Country. You have to have some of us special people."
Like many other restaurants across Wisconsin, managers at Tailgatez say they see a hike in business during football season. With 15 more weeks of regular season to go, football fans and restaurant owners will have alot to cheer about this season.
The restaurant we spoke with says they not only see a hike in business during the games, but after as well. They say their location offers people heading home from Green Bay a chance to stop in a grab some good food.
