An Eau Claire County man will spend 24 years behind bars and 15 years on extended supervision after he was convicted of sexually assaulting six children while working at an Altoona daycare.
Thomas West, 26, was convicted of six counts of 1st degree child sexual assault. Online court records list the offense dates as occurring in March 2011 to June 2012.
According to WEAU-TV, Judge Michael Schumacher says the sentence is about protecting the community.
West is not eligible for an early release program. He will be 50 years old when he is released from prison.
