The former Antigo elementary school principal and former High School football coach has pleaded guilty to one count manufacturing THC. Six other similar charges were dismissed during a plea deal with prosecutors, Tuesday in Langlade County Court.

John Lund, 48, is expected to be sentenced March 6. He faces a maximum sentenced of 3 ½ years in prison.

The arrest stems from a drug investigation headed by Lt. Dan Bauknecht of the Langlade County Sheriffs Department that started in August, 2011.

On Nov. 30, 2011 detectives interviewed Lund at Pleasant View Elementary School, where he was principal. Lund was also Principal at West Elementary. Lund, said in the first part of Nov. 2011, his brother-in-law, Bradley Maahs called wanting to know if anyone was looking for marijuana. According to the criminal complaint Lund obtained marijuana from Maahs and gave two bags to Scot Peterson. Lund told police he and Peterson used to “get stuff for each other.”

Peterson, a former Antigo High School football coach and retired special education teacher, was originally charged with 26 drug charges including manufacturing THC. In June, Peterson reached a plea deal and was sentenced to six months in jail, and four years probation.

Lund was place on administrative leave during the investigation and later resigned.
