To better serve our countries veterans, the Stevens Point Police Department will have its first Veterans Liaison Officer.

Officer Mike Bink will help veterans in need of medical assistance, therapy, or any other problem and point them to the right resource. Chief Ruder hopes that through this, partnerships will be made between veterans and organizations that can help them in Portage County.

Chief Ruder elaborated, “It’s important to have an officer that’s educated on resources that are available to our veterans.”

Ruder says that they’ll provide a range of services for veterans, and he wants to encourage veterans to contact the Portage County Veterans Service Office if they need immediate help.
