The Wausau Fire Department responded to a report of a basement fire at 712 Park Avenue Sunday afternoon that had already been extinguished before firefighters arrived.
A member of the Wausau Fire Department says that quick action helped save the house. Occupants in the home tore through insulation and other debris in the basement to put the fire out before firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported and all occupants inside the home were able to get out safely. A minimal amount of damage was recorded.
Fire crews are responding to a structure fire in Wausau.
According to scanner traffic, crews are responding to a structure fire at a residence on Wausau's north side. The fire is said to have began in the home's basement.
Dispatchers are saying that there are four people still inside the home.
