A fire at a paper company in Rothschild is under investigation.
The Rothschild Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene of a fire at the Domtar Paper Company in Rothschild just before 4pm Saturday.
An employee said he saw smoke and called 911.
Rothschild Officer Jeff Zwicky said a de-barker in the wood room on the second floor of the paper company was clogged with bark pieces, causing friction and a smoldering fire. This room is run by computers, so there was no immediate threat. No one was injured and there was no property damage reported. Zwicky said this is not the first time this has happened in the de-barkers, but they are still investigating the situation.
Mosinee was called as back up to handle any incidences in the Rothschild area during the fire.
