It's a problem that's plaguing schools all across America and research shows nearly three quarters of students have admitted to being a victim of bullying.
Evergreen Elementary School in Rothschild hopes a little extra money will help combat bullying in their hallways.
Along with six other schools they took home $1,000 as part of their prize money from Younkers' Back to School campaign in support of STOMP Out Bullying. They will use the money to support an anti-bullying awareness program.
"Bullying is an issue anytime," says Rick Koepke, Principal of Evergreen Elementary. "If it's a real problem for a student then it's a real problem and so we encourage our students to report bullying."
He says they'll probably lean towards guest-speaker driven assemblies to teach kids right from wrong.
