Everest Metro Police Chief Optimistic Merger Proposal Will Pass

Everest Metro Police Chief Wally Sparks says he's optimistic a proposal to merge his department with Rothschild will get the go-ahead.

Sparks tells NewsChannel 7 talks are progressing well.

He says the idea has been well received by all four municipalities who will have to approve it. That Includes Schofield, where he spoke to the city council Tuesday night.

The chief says he expects the final votes on the issue to be taken in July.
