MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Madison police say the estranged husband of a homicide victim has been found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police searched the home of Bernard Grosso after 30-year-old Jennifer Boyce was found dead in an east side apartment Thursday. Boyce was due in court Friday to finalize a divorce from Grosso.

WMTV-TV reports police discovered the body of the 34-year-old Grosso as the conducted a search warrant at his house overnight. Police say the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Relatives say Boyce was an epidemiologist who worked for the state Division of Public Health.

Madison police have not said how Boyce was killed.
