The Wildcats have been a regular in playoffs, they've qualified for the postseason every single year, dating back all the way to 1994.
But last year, the cats took a surprising early exit in the second round of the playoffs, which hasn't happened since 2007.
Head coach Jerry Sinz says last year's disappointing ending has been motivation for his team all off-season.
The guys came back really fired up and ready to go. I think they were a little disappointed in the way the season ended last year. You know we haven't got eliminated in the second round of the playoffs which probably hasn't happened in liked 10 years or whatever. So yeah, they're looking forward to better things," said Sinz.
Senior Zach Allmann believes this year's team has the ability to make a deep playoff run.
"Of course it has, it's Edgar football. We've got reputation to live up for here. No doubt we're gonna make it to a state championship game this year."
