As your kids get ready to head back to school, there can be some nervousness or anxiety associated. We have some things to keep in mind that will help your children feeling confident for the first day back and all year long.
Places like the Boys and Girls Club offer many opportunities for children to speak out and share their anxieties of returning to school. Mentors and volunteers work with the children to help them feel as prepared as possible.
Things like a good nights sleep and a packed and ready to backpack can help a child feel more confident and ready to tackle the day. Transitioning to a larger school or being new on campus can also be intimidating. Take your child for a campus tour or try to find the class locations ahead of time.
Setting goals for the first day and for the whole year help your child visualize what they want out of the school year. Check in with them periodically so that they stay on task and continue to learn and grow.
