An arsonist has appeared to strike again in the city of Wausau.
Just hours after an apartment complex fire on the city's west side Sunday night, crews were called to Northwestern Avenue near downtown for two grass fires.
Investigators have ruled the fires suspicious.
According to Fire Chief Gary Buchberger, they started around 1 a.m. this morning, and because of the dry and windy conditions spread quickly. No nearby structures were affected.
Since June, there have been a dozen suspicious fires throughout the city, most of them along the railroad track on the east side.
Most were small grass fires, but at least two abandoned buildings, and a vehicle, have been targeted.
Buchberger says because typically arsonists try to test their limits, it's a priority to catch whoever is responsible.
