The Eagle River Police Department reports one of their squad cars was struck after an officer attempted to pull over an erratic driver Saturday evening.
The Vilas County Dispatch Center received a 911 call just before 6:30 PM reporting a driver traveling in the wrong lane of traffic westbound through the City of Eagle River. The Eagle River Officer attempted to stop the vehicle and after several failed attempts, the Officer pulled their squad in front of the vehicle in attempts to protect oncoming traffic and slow the vehicle down. The vehicle rear ended the squad causing an accident.
No one was injured and no names are being released at this time. The cause of the erratic driving was determined to be medical related.
Eagle River Police Department, Eagle River Ambulance Service and the Vilas County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident. The Vilas County Sheriff's office is investigating the accident.
