Paramedic students learned how to operate in a dangerous situation during a mass casualty shooting drill in Wausau Sunday.
It was part of a Waukesha County Technical College course at the old business incubator project building on Cleveland Street.
The drill incorporated students as well as police and fire department personnel from across the state.
The course integrates military and emergency medicine into SWAT teams and high threat police responses such as an active shooter situation, like what occured in Aurora, CO and Oak Creek, WI.
During the drill, students learned how to care for victims while under the threat of gunfire.
