Nearly 500 people will participate in the fifth annual Run, Bike, Unite Duathlon Saturday, Aug. 23, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to kick off United Way of Portage County’s 2014 campaign. The event begins with a two-mile run, is followed by a 16-mile bike ride, and concludes with a two-mile run to the finish. In addition, nearly 75 children are registered for the Kids’ Duathlon on Friday, Aug. 22, at UWSP. A Kids’ Duathlon begins at 6 p.m. In the UWSP Lot Q in Stevens Point. Kids ages 7 to 12 will participate in a quarter- to half-mile run, followed by two- to four-mile bike ride, and concluding with quarter- to half-mile run.
The Full Duathlon also will begin in Lot Q. Race starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23. There will be a two-mile run, followed by 16-mile bike ride, and concluding with two-mile run.
