Since many kids are stuck inside on cold days, there are some options to avoid them catching cabin fever. The Boys and Girls Club of the Wausau Area is open when school is closed.

"They can be in the computer lab, they can be in the games area, the gym, the art room, I'm guessing the skatepark will be open later," said Executive Director, Brian Stzenski-Williams, "so there's just a wide range of things for kids to do, that if they were at home, they just wouldn't have those options."

The Boys and Girls Club is open from 7 am until 5:30 om on non-school days so parents have a place to bring their children, if they have to go to work.

"They need to be active everyday whether they are home from school or not," said Stzenski-Williams we just create more opportunities for kids who are not necessarily in team sports to make sure that they are active in the gym."
