Driver Suspected of OWI in Creek Crash

TOWN OF NEW GLARUS, Wis. (AP) -- A New Glarus woman is suspected of driving drunk, crashing her car into a creek and injuring her 4-year-old child.

The Green County Sheriff's Department says the woman's vehicle went down an embankment along Highway 69 in the Town of New Glarus about 8:30 p.m. Monday and into creek. Authorities say the child wasn't restrained and was treated at the scene for injuries.

The 27-year-old woman told deputies she swerved to avoid a deer when she lost control of the vehicle.
