Driver Hospitalized After Bear Strike Causes Rollover

One person sustained non-life threatening injuries after striking a bear early Monday morning on I-39 near Mosinee.

Police say the driver was traveling northbound on I-39 south of Maple Ridge Road around 4 a.m. When he hit a bear and lost control of the car, rolling over and landing in a ditch.

The driver was the only person in the car.

Authorities could not comment on the severity of the driver's injuries.

The bear died as result of the crash.
