The cause of crash that sent two people to the hospital Tuesday evening is still under investigation.
A deputy with the Portage County Sheriff's Department said a car traveling south on Highway 34 near Rudolph crossed the center line and struck a truck head-on. The crash happened just after 5 p.m. The road remained closed until shortly before 7 p.m.
The driver in the car was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital. The driver in the truck was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The Deputy did not have an update on the either person's medical conditions, but did note both were alert and conscious when EMS crews arrived. Both drivers were the sole occupants in their vehicles.
The driver in the car was cited with deviating left of center.
