Dog Bites Man, Health Dept. Looking for Dog

The Marathon County Health Department needs your help finding a dog.

At about Noon on Wednesday, July 24th, 2013, a man was bitten by a white dog while walking north on Summit Drive in the City of Wausau. The dog was being walked by a young, white, female with blonde hair. The woman was also walking a larger, black dog.

If you’re the owner of this dog or know who this dog belongs to – please contact the Marathon Co. Health Department at 715-261-1908. You can also call the Humane Society of Marathon Co. at 715-845-2810.

In a press release, the Marathon Co. Health Dept. says it’s important to verify the dog’s vaccination status. This could prevent the victim from having to go through a series of rabies shots.
