UPDATE: Autopsy Scheduled for Man Found in Wis. River

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (AP) -- Divers have recovered the body of a missing man from a river in the Wisconsin Dells.

Twenty-one-old Mitchel Blanchard of rural Paradeeville was reported missing by his family Sunday.

Wisconsin Dells police say they had responded to a disturbance call at Captain Brady's Showboat Saloon early Sunday and had tried to make contact with Blanchard.

Officers say Blanchard took off running and disappeared into a wooded area.

WISN-TV reports investigators found Blanchard's vest near the Wisconsin River on Sunday, and located his body in the waters near a dam on Monday around noon.

The Columbia County medical examiner has scheduled an autopsy.

According to WMTV-TV, the body of Mitchel Blanchard has been found. Blanchard was last seen around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police in Columbia County are searching the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Dells for a 21-year-old man who has not been seen since 2 a.m. Sunday.

According to a Madison newspaper, Mitchel Blanchard of Pardeeville, was last seen running toward a dam and bridge near the Kilbourn dam and the Broadway/Highway 13/16/23 bridge.

Blanchard is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds, light brown hair, wearing brown pants, white shirt, tan vest and lavender tie.

The Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Columbia County dive team, Wisconsin Dells police, DNR, Kilbourn Fire Department and Alliant Energy.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, 742-4166.
