WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) -- A suburban Milwaukee detective is accused of stealing drugs from the police department evidence room.

Thirty-eight-year-old Robin Schumacher is expected to appear in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon. The Wauwatosa police detective is charged with drug possession, misconduct in public office and theft.

Police Chief Barry Weber says he'll ask that Schumacher be fired. She was arrested July 16 following an internal investigation and placed on administrative leave. Weber says the prescription drugs missing from the evidence room are from cases that have been closed, not from pending cases.
