Democratic Senator Vinehout Enters Governor's Race

Democratic state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout of Alma says she is running for governor if a recall election is ordered against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

Vinehout on Wednesday joined former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk as the only announced Democrats. Several others are considering getting in, but even if no one does a primary would be necessary.

The recall petitions are in the process of being verified and no date for a primary or general election has been set.

Vinehout is one of the 14 Democratic state senators who fled to Illinois last year for three weeks to stop a vote on Walker's proposal curbing public employee union rights. A farmer, the 53-year-old Vinehout was first elected in 2006 and won re-election in 2010 by 439 votes.

Sen. Tim Cullen and Dem Party leader Mike Tate should talk to Sen. Vinehout about not reducing the State Senate by one more Democrat. Now, we'll have to recall 2 Republicans instead of just 1 to achieve the majority. I'm pretty sure that's why Cullen dropped out of the race against Walker. Simple math.

to bill what poll are you refering to? Right now it doesn't matter who is running now. When it happens Walker is going to have a heck of a time trying to lambasting the potential canidates because right now all the Pro walker ads mean nothing.

David, David, David time for a new subject and a new comment. Yours are the same each time you make a comment. If you knew any thing or would listen you would know that the Recall is requested by many people. It is not just the teachers, it is not just the unions, it is not just some villages, townships and counties, it is people from all walks of life in Wisconsin. You need to deal with these facts. It is to bad you have on your set of horse blinders but to many people want Walker out of office. He didn't just cause problems for two groups. He caused problems for many people. These people and many who voted for him are tired of talk from two sides of his mouth. Let the Recalls begin and Daivd just deal with them. Let the cards fall and see what happens.

Journal sentinel says in a statewide poll Walker would beat Falk 49%-42% Tom Barrett 50%-44% and Walker still has a 51% approval rating.

Look at the polls that have been done on the Republican candidates. Think back, no matter who took the poll they have been wrong as often as right. Polls cahnge daily as people change their mind. But all of keep believing them.

According to the polls Walker would beat any of the Dems who were considering running against him as of last week.

If you have been watching the presidential candidates you would realize polls mean very little.

You have so much anger about the majority you have horse blinders on this state was in trouble when Doyle messed up we should all feel the pain along with public workers and teachers like the rest of us its only fare they contribute like all of us do think about it when you run off at the mouth all the time. lets all work togeather to correct this mistake.

I do not care who it is that runs and who is elected as long as it is not Walker or someone joined with him at the hip. I am not tied to either party as I vote for issues and the person. I could vote Democrat or for another Republican. A Republican who has a conscience and is willing to sit down an work with others. Walker's dictaor style needs to be removed from office. I would think if the Republicans want a chance to stay in office you would see another Republican person running against Walker. Just a thought for the Republican Party.
