The crisp, arctic air is fitting for the holiday season, and the Mosinee Community Theatre is bringing back a holiday tradition for the first time in four years so that more children can be a part of musical theater.
The Deck the Halls Christmas Home Tour is set for Dec. 1, and all funds will go toward providing performing arts opportunities for youth in the Mosinee community.
Nine-year-old Thomas Miller is the youngest in the Mosinee's Community Theatre production the "nuncracker."
"I'm skateboarding in carnival Christmas," Miller said about what role he plays in the production.
Miller said he likes being on stage so people can see his talents.
For this show, he'll skateboard across to a silly part of the production.
"It's a song where everybody is like happy for Christmas and they are at a carnival," Miller said.
This painted, young fellow gets to reap the benefits of Mosinee Community Theater, but Mosinee Community Theatre Vice President Shaun Groshek said the program needs funds so they can provide more to kids like Miller.
This year he's planned to bring back the Deck the Halls Christmas Home Tour.
"The tour will consist of five homes, and you can buy tickets at each of the houses," Groshek said. "People can just come and look at the Christmas decorations and get inspired for the season."
Groshek said the last time they did tour was about four years ago, and he's excited to host as one of the homes.
"I'll have two, 9-foot trees that are full of decorations," Groshek said. "The walls are covered, pretty much all open spaces are decorated for Christmas."
So while Groshek is planning for Dec. 1, the musicians play for the actors. The actors perform for the crowd. Miller just concentrates on his part of the show.
The tour is set for noon until 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, and tickets are $7.
Tickets can be purchased at any of the homes on Dec. 1. The tour is open to anyone 10 years old and older.

All proceeds will go toward providing performing arts opportunities for youth in the Mosinee Community.
