Dane County Mother Passes Out while Pushing Newborn in Stroller

A 33- year-old Dane County mother could face charges after someone called police reporting a suspected intoxicated woman pushing a stroller with a small infant inside.

On July 11, officers from the Mount Horeb Police Department found Kari Barrett lying on the ground, unable to get up to due her level of intoxication.

A preliminary blood test showed Barrett had a BAC of .247; more than three times the legal limit for driving. According to WMTV-TV, she is on probation for 4th offense OWI.

The seven-day-old baby was checked by Mount Horeb EMS and released to the father.

She was booked into the Dane County jail on a probation hold.
Several other charges are pending.
