The latest internet, social media craze is the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS...also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Someone gets dumped with water, and issues a challenge to three others.
Sports Director Dale Ryman joined in on the latest sensation.
NewsChannel 7 alum Eric Rajala, now a sports anchor at our CBS affiliate WISC in Madison, issued the challenge to Dale on Wednesday night.
Dale accepted, and had 5 gallons of ice water dumped on his head.
In return, Dale issued a challenge to three more individuals. UW-Stevens Point women's basketball coach Shirley Egner, Pittsburgh Steelers rookie and Medford native Ethan Hemer and WDJT (CBS) sports anchor Kevin Holden. Dale and Kevin are part of the Packers' pregame show seen at 10:30 on Sunday's.
Since the Ice Bucket Challenges started on July 29, about $5.5-million dollars has been raised for ALS research.
