Two nonprofit groups in central Wisconsin have been selected to receive state awards for their efforts to enrich life in rural communities.
The Adams Community Theatre, LTD and Granton Community Library will be honored on Friday, Feb. 1 at the State Capitol. The Department of Public Instruction issues the Standing Up for Rural Wisconsin Schools, Libraries, and Communities Award annually to projects that bridge communities and build a better future for town's youth.
The award began in March 2005, when eight schools and communities were recognized for exemplary programs. Since then, sixty-six more programs have been honored at the State Capitol.
