Preliminary 2012 Firearm Deer Harvest Numbers Released

The Department of Natural Resources has released preliminary counts from the 2012 gun deer season.

The DNR says hunters bagged 114,822 bucks and 128,917 antlerless deer. It's about a 12 percent increase in bucks harvested and four percent increase in antlerless deer, compared to 2011's season.

The DNR says 633,460 hunters took part in the nine day gun season.
