UPDATE: Early Morning Business Fire Appears Accidental

UPDATE: Wed. April 30, 2014 12:45 P.M.

The Wausau Fire Department tells NewsChannel 7, an investigation into an early morning fire on North 6th Street is complete and the fire started in an electrical panel. Crews say the fire is accidental and that there is some smoke and minimal fire damage to the building.


Investigators hope to learn more Wednesday morning about a possible structure fire in Wausau.

Around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday fire crews were called to the 2100 block of North 6th Street for reports of smoke coming from a business.

No flames were visible but officers will remain on scene to monitor hot spots until investigators arrive later in the morning, according to Wausau Police.
