UPDATED: Thur 2:41 PM, Aug 15, 2013

Wausau police are searching for a man they say lead them on a short car chase Thursday afternoon, then ran off. One other person has also been arrested for the incident.

Lt. Mark Panko tells NewsChannel 7 it began at about 12:45pm Thursday when officers tried to pull the man over. That lead to a short car chase. The vehicle went up over a curb at the corner of Adams and 5th Streets. The man got out and ran off. He has not been found. Panko says residents are not in danger at this time.

While police were going over the car, Panko says the owner of the vehicle arrived and became combative. That person was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct or possibly obstruction.

Panko says he's still going over the incident report and expects to have more details later Thursday afternoon.
