UPDATE: 7:10 p.m.

The Asst. Fire Chief for Ringle tells NC7 the fire is now contained. He believes the cause of the fire was due to the homeowner trying to thaw some frozen pipes.

Fire crews are on the scene of a house fire in Ringle. That's just east of Wausau.

The Asst. Fire Chief for the Ringle Fire Dept. says it's still an active fire and crews are working to get it under control.

Fire fighters were paged out just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday to a home on Second Ave. The owner of the home tells our NC7 crew at the scene that everyone made it out of the house and are ok.

A fire fighter tells NC7 water is having to be hauled in because there are no fire hydrates nearby.

Fire crews are scene include Hatley, Ringle, and Weston.

We have a crew at the scene, and will bring you more updates as they become available.
