A 22-year-old woman received extensive injures after falling 40-50 feet from a La Crosse bluff.

The woman was hiking in an unauthorized area of Grandad Bluff at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when the incident happened. The woman did have a cellphone and was able to call 911. Rescuers say with out her call the fall may have been fatal as they would have not known where she was.
