The Portage County Sheriff's Department has released the name of woman who died Friday morning in a mobile home fire.
The department says Sanjuana Esquivel, 55, died of smoke inhalation.
Multiple agencies were called to Birch Tree Estates on Birch Drive near Plover around 7 am Friday morning. A passerby reported the fire and did attempt to enter the home, but wasn't able to due to heat and smoke.
Neighbors told authorities they believed a person could be inside the home. The body was discovered around 8:30 am.
The Plover Fire Chief says the home is a total loss.
There's no word on what caused the fire.
Plover Fire and EMS, Sheriff's deputies, Whiting Fire and Rescue, Stockton Fire, Bancroft-Pine and the Portage County Ambulance Service all responded.
