Update: 12:27 a.m.
The Norwood Fire Department estimates that as many as a couple dozen young cows are dead after a barn fire in the Town of Norwood.
Firefighters were called to a farm on Fairview Road at about 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
They believe the cause of the fire was electrical and that the fire started near a light pole.
Firefighters managed to save a milking parlor, and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
The fire caused slight damage to the a garage door on one nearby structure.
Norwood Fire Chief Gerry Waldvogel says he expects crews to be on scene for most of the night.
No one was injured in the blaze.
The Langlade County Sheriff's Department confirms fire crews are responding to a barn fire just off of Fairview Road in Antigo. Firefighters on the scene tell NewsChannel 7 the fire is under control.
There are very few other details at this time. Our crew on the scene reports Birnamwood and Mattoon Fire Departments are currently battling the blaze.
No word yet on whether or not any animals were in the barn at the time of the fire. We will bring your more information as it becomes available.
